WWW Wednesday is hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words! All you have to do is answers the following three questions:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
Now that I’ve finished 30 Rock and Philosophy, I’ve moved forward into Alice in Wonderland and Philosophy: Curiouser and Curiouser. I’m on my last audiobook of the Poor Relations series with Back in Society. After far too long, I’m reading another Aimee Bender book!
It was a big reading weekend for me. I finished the Wonder Woman Chronicles with volumes 2 and 3. I also read Spock Must Die! by James Blish (review tomorrow!). I finished the Midnight Magic Mystery series with Witch Upon a Star (thoughts for this series coming Friday). Lastly, yesterday I reread The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake by Aimee Bender, which is one of my low-key all-time favorites. It’s one I think about a lot but don’t shove towards people a lot…unless of course I run a book club and told everyone to read it. MU HAHAHA!
I have The Things You Can See Only When You Slow Down by Haemin Sunim checked out on Libby, and I might listen to that. I haven’t fully committed to it yet; my mood for it may have passed. If I don’t listen to it, I’ll just listen to music until my hold for Roomies by Christina Lauren comes in. Mennonite in a Little Black Dress by Rhoda Janzen is my last book to read for my January Beat the Backlist TBR, and The Stars We Steal by Alexa Donne is my last book for my January ARC TBR!! Go me! Those books are next, and then I have some library check-outs to get to.
I’m adding a new section of what else I’ve gotten into this week. I won’t talk about my Marvel watches because I cover that in Marvel Monday. However, I do get into some other things that I find entertaining.
This is a new one for me. For one thing, I have the hardest time finding them and figuring out how to listen to them. And another thing is that I spend a lot of time listening to audiobooks. I wanted something else for while I’m at work weeding and relabeling books and when I’m between books. I started Girl in Space on Pandora. I’ve listen to about half of it, and I like it. The speaker is a bit slow though, and I do find my mind wandering while I’m listening.
I’ve also been listening to The Bellas Podcast on Player FM (so far my favorite platform for finding podcasts because it’s the easiest to use). Listening to twins argue about things is surprisingly fascinating. They also talk about relationships, and they’re funny.
I found one called Drunk Librarians that I haven’t listened to yet but am sure will be hilarious. If you have recommendations for podcasts, feel free to share! Like my taste in books, what I’m looking for in podcasts is basically anything (funny, stories, informative, whatever!).
TV (Other than Marvel)
MASKED SINGER, Y’ALL! We binge-watched season 2. I absolutely called it with the Fox, but I was completely surprised by who the Rottweiler was. Of course, after he was revealed, I felt soooooo stupid for not hearing it. If you haven’t watched this show or don’t know what it is, celebrities dress up in costumes and perform musical numbers. The audience and the judges have no idea who’s under the mask, and someone new is revealed each week. It’s absolutely bonkers, and I LOVE IT! Here’s the trailer for season 1 if you can’t picture it from my description:
